This is something we’ve just finished working on. Here is a Company details page in activeCollab 1.0-1.0.6:

And here is what we are working on for activeCollab 1.1:

Changes are small, but the entire page looks much better - there are less borders, better structure and it looks much cleaner. On top of the visual changes there are a couple of new things displayed:

  1. In activeCollab 1.1 system shows last time when user was active. This is frequent “small things” request that gets posted on our Feature Request forum. If user never logged in you’ll be able to see it and contact him or her to check out if they received welcome message.
  2. Users role is shown to administrators and people managers. New permission system we are working on lets you set role for every user in the system, not just members of owner company, and you can see it right on the company details page.

This is just the first iteration. There are a couple more ideas to improve this page even fruther, but I hope you like it already.

Looks nice and nice additional ideas … but: Is there also planned to get the basic things working – like (AJAX-Suggest?) searching for companies and people? At the moment the “people” view is unusable for us (6 pages of companies, 4-10 useres each)

thx

activeCollab 1.1 can search through users (you can search for users email address, first and last name). Company information is not currently searchable, but we’ll see if we can also make that one happen in v1.1.

It would be really beneficial to us (and indedd everyone) if this page could list the users inline below each company (revealed once the company was clicked) and if an alphabetized navigation could be employed instead of the ‘Pages 1,2,3…’

as discussed here – http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/2563/

being able to search company and people info would be nice, but i think being able to quickly drill down into each company using the company page is crucial.
