About 10% of mens have a color blindness, that's why links must be visible (contrast color, or a bettter way - underline)

Try sandbox theme (you can change it in Profile -> Update Profile -> Miscellaneous).

Use the sandbox theme. We had that in mind.

For some reason, my user seems to be stuck with the default theme, though I changed it to sandbox. Logging in as another user gives me sandbox. Tried refreshing browser, no luck.

Is is possible to stop the user from being able to change the theme and be forced to use one set by admin? I know that i could delete all but one theme, but i quite like the idea of using different themes for different clients.

Not at this point. We'll see to give you more control in the upcoming versions.
Thank you
