I just wanted to add that if the developers who contributed to this project released their source code freely, without license or copyright, then they can do whatever they want. If, however, the authors released their source code under the GPL or a similar, true Open Source license, then this project CAN'T be made private, the source must be released along with it until the company secures permission from every developer that contributed to the software, or replaces all contributed code with their own. I would highly suggest that if developers are worried about code they contributed, they find get a copy of the 1.0 source code and make sure nothing they wrote is in there.
I understand there are conflicting opinions regarding the direction this project has gone, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents.
This project has transformed how I manage my projects in my corporation. Granted, I was upset when I saw the initial pay model proposal. I was somewhat pleased when it changed and was happy to pay for the upgrade. This program makes my life so much easier.
I would have paid regardless of whether is was a pay for support (i.e. mysql or sugarcms) or pay for the app. Its a wonderful application, and for the price, I think its well worth it.
I know the debate will go on, but as a user and supporter (and I mean financially) of many open source projects I can say this one so far, has been top notch for me.
