I've been searching around, and in PP/AC 0.7 I could set default file folders in the database. However, it seems to have changed in the corp release. I was wondering how you would go about setting default folders? I have numerous projects that will all have files sorted the same way, so id like to just have them show ithout setting them up every time.

You can set them for one project, and then import them for every project using the templates module Valdemar developed. Works like a charm.

You can find information here: http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/2409/

This kinda raises the question of support that im so worried about. What happens when the next version of aC comes out? Does the module get disabled or does it cause errors trying to use the code?

EDIT: I just tried the addon, it isnt for me. It copies milestones and checklists. These will change per project, the only thing that is the same is the file folders.

If you create a new project, with only the file categories, no milestones, no checklists, then it only copies the file categories based on this project. What you want to do is create such an empty project (for example with only file categories) and then archive it to get it out of the way. You can call it 'Template' or something.

That's how I did it (also only needed file categories). Works fine.

Next major upgrade has a separate page in administration where you can set default categories that are created for discussions, files and tickets.

Any idea of when the next release may be due? Unfortunatly we will be presenting this to our clients soon, and need the system fully up and running by then, so it may come down to a hackjob to the code to tide us over (yes, I know this breaks updates)

And thanks Davor, I will consider that and look into it. It may work out if I make it private so clients dont have to look at the blank project.
