When someone adds a comment to a ticket, or a reply to a discussion, there is currently no notification sent so we keep missing them. Wouldn't everyone like a notification option on that?

You need to subscribe or assign people to an object in order to have them receive notifications on new comments. Did you add any?

So I assume you mean on a ticket I would need to assign other users to it, but not as the primary. OK, I'll try that.

But on Discussions, I don't see that there is anyway to subscribe anyone other than yourself to a topic? And if I'm posting a new topic, that's exactly what I want to notify others about. Am I missing something here?

Check Manage Subscriptions tool (available in Options drop down).

I'm finally starting to get the hang of aC ;-), but I still having trouble with this.

1. If I want to get comments on a Ticket, I have to include myself as an assignee as soon as I set it up. But then when I click on the project home page to see what tasks I am responsible for, I then see every ticket which pretty much kills the value of that. Is there a different way to do this?

2. And it is really a pain to have to set this up individually on every ticket. For the most part, I would like everyone on the project to be able to see every comment and message posted during the life of the project. So I would much prefer to see everyone assigned to a project get these by default unless I click to un-notify them. Is there a way to do that/ If not, wouldn't most people want that?

1. You do not need to add yourself as an assignee. After ticket is created just click on Subscribe link on ticket details page (available in Options menu and in the right section with quick options) and you'll receive email notifications regarding that ticket.

2. Current system is subscription based and there is no way to get email notifications sent to everyone on the project. If you need to be notified on all changes in a project we suggest that you use recent activities RSS feed (available globally and per project).

OK, clarification 1 is helpful, buttt... Maybe I'm alone on this (hopefully others will speak up if not), but I find it really tedious to set up a list of Tickets(Tasks) for a project. Here's an example.

Let's say I set up a project with 10 Tickets (Tasks! ;-)) that I assign to one of my team. If I want that person to be able to comment on any of those Tasks, I need to make sure that both he and I are subscribed to each and every one of them. Bunch of keystrokes for each Ticket. And what happens if I forget one? Then he makes a comment and wonders why I have never responded. This has already happened.

I would love to see the following:
1. Ability to turn on/off subscriptions to all objects as the default for all people assigned to the Project, or at least at the Milestone level
2. Then the ability to override the default by unsubscribing (or subscribing) at the current object levels (Tickets, Messages, etc.)

That would be a beautiful thing...

Would anyone else like this?
