I have created a new project and assigned one of my staff as the team leader. Shouldn't they receive a notification email about this?

No, user do not receive notifications when they are added to a project.

When we create a new project and add all people we create an introduction discussion and notify all people. This works pretty well for us.

Hmmmm... Seems like a work around. I am pretty much putting that introduction into the project overview.

You don't need to discuss plans, dates or anything like that. Here's an example:

Hi everyone,

Project goals are described on overview page. I'll have all tasks posted and assigned by the end of the day.

That's about it for now. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

It is a workaround, but I like it more than simple notification. Instead of just letting your team know about the project you are asking them to participate in a discussion. This is a good thing in most cases.

So you are saying that we (the bosses) need to make the project. Add all the people and then go a third whole step as if number 1 of setting up the project was not already 20 hours work in some cases but now we need to kick a message that says something as simple as:

Ok folks ABC project page is set up.

I mean ok, I can live with that but I am really struggling that if a project is assigned to a lead developer, a project manager and a designer than when a new ticket comes in from the client it does not notify all the "people" assigned.

Internal communication is easy to "work around" but having to login every 10 minutes to see if a client has posted anything is hard.

I would love to be able to set a default in the admin preference to be able to enable notifications by default, This topic has been brought up before, but our clients are not as savy as yours, and it appear that others are having the same problem as we are.
