If you subscribe to a ticket and then someone else posts a comment, do you get notified? I don't think the system notifies you for your own comments.

We have been testing with 4 accounts and no good on any email notifications from the tickets.

Please note: all other emails are coming over as expected.

Hi dshupe,

Just tested - activeCollab sends email notifications to assignees when ticket is created. Notify Assignees needs to be checked (assignees will also be added as initial group of subscribers).

Notifications are not sent when assignees are updated later on. You'll need to post comment or change ticket status (complete or reopent) for notifications to be sent.

Can you please send FTP connection parameters and link to your activeCollab setup so we can check what the problem is. Also, we'll need a user in the system with an access to one project.

Thank you

Ilija,

Will have to push that one though our IT dept. I know they are on a separate thread with your team trying to work out a SQL 5.1 issue on the installation. Currently we are not on a public box because of the SQL issue.

Honestly I have tried it all. I just change the assigned person and saved that edit to the ticket. I then added a comment to the ticket.

Apologies to all for turning this thread into help. Not intended.

So back on feature request topic...If the message is only sent when comments are made, then it would be very helpful to be able to assign the person on the same screen as the comments. Because, it seems the currently you have to edit the original message and save, then post a comment. Two step process.

thanks,
david

I decided to post here instead of opening a new thread.

Per above, when a ticket assignment is modified, the new assignee(s) do NOT receive an email notification. This is critical to our workflow, as tickets can change assignments multiple times during the lifecycle of a ticket.

Posting a comment for the sole purpose of notifying new assignees isn't really practical - it's a poor workaround, because the new assignee has to be added *separately* as a subscriber in order to receive the notification.

I assumed this was a bug until I saw the comments above - can this PLEASE make it into the next release?

Thanks

It's already added as a request/bug for activeCollab 1.1, which means that newly added assignees will be notified in 1.1

We too would like to see notification sent when an object (project, ticket, task, etc.) has be re-assigned or re-prioritized.

We also require notification when tickets are updated. Our web studio has 7 project managers and a studio of 20 designers/devs. Everything is routed via a traffic/scheduling manager so PM's will post their tasks without assigning and the trafficker will do the assigning. I would imagine there are many other companies who operate in this manor. If we had to subscribe everyone and post a comment each time, it would cause chaos. I am going to try hack in notification but this sort of functionality would be greatly appreciated in the next update!
