Hi, I work for a small Design Agency in the Netherlands and we are looking for collaboration tool. I have tried a few competitors among SugerCRM, which could satisfy our needs because of the extensive amount of options. But there is a big downside to Sugar, it's far from user friendly and complicated for easy use.
I really dig ActiveCollab because of it's simplicity and user friendliness. But I'm missing some very helpful features that I have found in Sugar.
On this forum I have found some feature lists, among the improvement of the time tracker module. That's a big plus!
I need to make a decision very soon to select a package. Because my college's are stressed out because of bad project planning.
But I'm still missing some features that I really need for our studio. If version 1.1 contains the features that I'm looking for and has release date within Q2. I am definitely going to wait.
Is there a final feature list for version 1.1 and a release date?

Complete feature list will be known when beta is launched. Original plan was to have stable version out by the end of March but it turned out that we'll have just beta by than. We should never underestimated permissions and localization.
Beta version will be ready in the next couple of days. It will be available to everyone who purchased a license. Than two, three weeks of testing and after that we'll have final version ready for you.
Sorry for the delay. When you see the final version and the amount of changes you'll understand why it took so long.

Though I find it a bit strange that the final feature list isn't know when so close to releasing a beta version. When starting developing 1.1, I would expect that a list of demands and goals is know, how could you else work towards a final version when it's unknown which features it holds. Then you would never finish a final version because it's always in progress.
I will await cause I just really like the current version and I am very curious for the Beta. :)

Feature set is known (it's on our whiteboard for past couple of months), just not published on the website.
There will be no demo for v1.1 while in beta. When v1.1 is officially released demo will be updated, but not until than.

We're not using aC in a production environment at the moment - so I'd love to install the Beta & play around with it.

Hi Ilija,
I know deadline are always stressful and difficult to deal with, but could we have a set date for the beta release?
We are using AC and loving it, any update to it would mean a lot to us.

Hi, hi,
I've just finished some final tweaks to Upgrade script (tool similar to installer that transforms your database, moves stuff around and makes sure that your tables and data are up to date). When done we'll upgrade a couple of setups we have running and play with them. If we don't find any major issues with the beta you can expect a release tomorrow.

For me 1.1 is most expected, not only for features but the beta will allow me to start working on an "unhacked" translation file :)
