Making the recipient list visible when typing in a message
Page: 1
I am not sure whether this is on your list for the next version but it would be VERY helpful if there is some sort of mechanism to remind a person to check off who you want a message to go to AND add the "message to all" feature.
Right now because the recipient list is hidden (minimized), it is so easy to forget to click who you want the message to go to and not even realize that you haven't done so until much later. I have done this a number of time and wondered why my customer didn't respond. My customers have also done the same thing.
I strongly suggest:
- either maximizing the recipient list (by default) so that it is visible all the time when someone is typing a message. you can then add an option within the admin to minimize it each time if someone wants it that way.
- OR leaving it minimized and having a popup to remind you that you have not checked anyone in an event that you click on the send/post message button. again, you can have this option disabled or enabled within the admin.
I go back to Basecamp again -- there is a reason why they have their recipient list positioned right where their post button and highly visible... so people won't forget!
Another feature you can adopt from Basecamp is the option to message everyone in the project. A simple check box to say "Message everyone in project" will be a VERY USEFUL one step feature!

We are well aware of this issue and will work on addressing it. activeCollab 1.1 feature list is closed so this will not be part of that release, but we'll see how this problem can be solved in one of the upcoming releases.

+1 pro forma, since Ilija has posted.
Here the problem is that often a recipient is listed who really shouldn't get the email, either out of politeness to them (too much info/noise) or other considerations (internal message discussing crapola, external recipient)... for example, recently, one of our projects had the CEO/owner of a client listed, who was involved... but didn't need to be getting 5 emails/day about random stuff...
