Got it, fixed it as instructed, beta is working like a baby :) Thx Ilija for the headsup on this one.
I do not see the status button after enabling the status module. Is this a known error, am I doing something typically stupid, or ...?

Beta 3 adds a new permissions that you can set for every role. Now you can control who can and who cannot use Status module. In order for button to reappear in the toolbar go to Administration > Roles and set the proper permissions for every role you think should have access to Status module.

Gotcha: now: Query failed with message 'Field 'parent_id' doesn't have a default value'... of course I guess I could set a default value... "0" ?

That is one of the "MySQL5 in strict SQL mode" errors... Here you can find more info about that.

We should not be in strict mode... is "here" supposed to have a link?... &sorry for lack of clarity: after changing perms, went to status, tried to send a message, and received the above message...

It's great to see the roll out of beta's for 1.1 - there's been a beta release every week since the first (beta1 3rd april, beta2 6th april, and beta3 14th april..) ... now I'm no man of science, but if there's any science behind these release dates, aC 1.1 stable should be available sometime this weekend or next week... I just can't wait!!! :) (sorry for speculating) ;) really looking forward to it.
