Just tested the upgrade process I posted about a month or so ago - rather than replace files piecemeal, I did this:

Unpacked the .zip, entered the for_upload dir via terminal, and typed:
tar cvzf ac.tgz *

Then I moved the tarball to the live installation directory, deleted the cache files, and unpacked the tarball:

tar xvzf ac.tgz

Then I ran the upgrade script. Everything appears to be working normally, and it was a heck of a lot easier than the instructions provided. Again, this points to the need/desire to be able to manage AC with subversion. Would be great if upgrading was as simple as "svn up" followed by running the upgrade script.

The only glitch I'm seeing with 1.1 is that I (admin) get the "Looks like this is the first time you've run AC" screen on the front page, and I can't make it go away. Not sure if that's a bug in 1.1 beta or due to the way I upgraded. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Scot

@Scot:

In order to hide welcome message click on Hide Welcome Message button. Regarding upgrade - if you just overwrite everything you might lose your data or configuration. It is HIGHLY recommended that you use instructions provided. We'll see about SVN upgrade in the future.

@Leon:

We do not keep change log between these releases. Beta 5 was pretty stable and this release induces only minor fixes. The most notable one is that time records are not listed in activity log if user cannot see them, but can see their parent objects.

Hmm... unpacking a tarball should not wipe out existing directories with the same name (though it will overwrite files with the same name) so I'm surprised to hear this process is considered dangerous. OK, I won't try that again :)

Odd -- the "Hide welcome message" button didn't seem to work when I tried it yesterday but it's working fine now.

Love the new Assignment filters! That's a very welcome feature, thanks.

Hi, for some reason the upgrade scrip won't let me login even though I can login to site fine. I get "Error: Invalid password". Upgrading from beta 4 to RC1
