In email notifications, it should be possible to unsubcribe from an issue with a single click, no login to the system necessary.

Even if we added such link you would still need to go to the website, login if not already logged in just to receive a notification that you are unsubscribed. Does that solves anything? It's just one click difference and one link in already link heavy notification messages.

There were several ideas behind this:

1) US CAN-SPAM compliance. Current method is of questionable compliance, not that anyone is enforcing CAN-SPAM at that level, but with a $10K fine...

2) Convenience. Current process (even when logged in) is cumbersome: open ticket, find and open manage subscriptions, click X, submit (repeat if assigned as well). Gets old.

3) Privacy/netiquette. (From my BaseCamp experience of having information accidentally leaked to me from a project we were added to). All people receiving info should be transparent, and I should be able to pull myself off a third-party list (if I'm a third party) without rigamarole-- that is, without needing to find the login/pass email that a third party sent to me.
