I wish aC could do this.

I think being able to send email messages to aC would be great. I used to like the way you could forward messages to highrise to make them the start of a new message/case.
If someone sends you an email it would be good to be able to 'forward' it to ac at a predefined address which would automatically create a new discussion containing the email contents.

I agree this would be great, I have clients replying to the emails all the time.

I like how Basecamp does this, but I think it'd be a lot more complicated to build out and possibly set up for a casual user. You would have to set up some sort of catch-all mailbox, and inside aC, be monitoring the box via a cronjob or some sort of POP3 PHP class. Sounds messy!
Agree this would be nice but sounds like a major bit of work (like Matt points out). Although if it was available, it would probably improve our productivity that little bit more - giving less web savy clients an easy way to keep in the loop and respond quicker. so +1 from me :)
One of the many barriers to several of my clients is the correspondence via a web portal. I cannot count the times that I have copy-pasted an email into Basecamp when a client is too "lazy" to login. When Basecamp finally integrated respond to email - it was wonderful. It certainly improved productivity and made it much easier for client communication. This would be well worth integrating.
This would be +3 for me :-)
Our clients usually don't take the effort of logging in, so they would just send us an email instead.
