I did not find any information on what it means to "pin" an object (project).

Hi Chris,
Pinned projects are always listed first on Dashboard and in Jump to Project popup.

Ok thanks, this was quick :)
And I suppose than whenever several projects are pinned, they all appear first, in alphabetical order. Let's say that no answer means "right"!

Pinned projects are ordered by the time they were created, not the name.
