Hey, so we put some more elbow grease into the time-logging app today and are ready to release a quick beta before releasing a final version. Quick note: we have barely testing this at all so if you are afraid of messing with your time logging you might want to stay away for a couple of days until we release a final version.
However, if you are a gung-ho type please check out TimeBomb and let us know what errors and issues you encounter.
1. First you'll need the AIR runtime. It's easy to install and there are a ton of great apps out there for Adobe AIR. You can get it free here:<a hre

2. Download the latest TimeBomb.zip package bellow (post #19).
3. You'll need to set a few settings when you first load the application. Your API key can be found in 'People' >> Your Company >> Your Name. Off to the right you'll see an icon that says "API" when you mouse over it. Grab that key and ensure it says "Enabled, read and write " below it. If it doesn't refer to this post:

The 'Base URL' setting needs to be the address to your ActiveCollab install with a trailing slash. (Ex. http://www.mysite.com/activecollab/
Anyway, poke around and see if you can find any bugs. This is not meant to be a major production so we know there are some basic error reporting / features that might be missing... but hey, it's free! :) If you guys dig it maybe we can build on it and charge a couple bucks. Let us know what you think!
1) after entering my information, it took me a few minutes to figure out that clicking the large silver circle (with red center) would close the preferences and reopen the PostTime Tab. I tried clicking Settings, MiniMode, etc and only the Circle "accepted" my settings.
2) When posting time there is no feedback that tells me the post was successful which could result in me posting the same information more than once. Perhaps an automated reset would make sense.
Other than those two minor issues, I think this is a beautiful and functional app.
Feedback wise, gmoyle summed up everything I would have said :) But I also found the button descriptions to be a bit quirky.. ie- 'mini mode' could be just 'close/hide' and the close (x) next to settings could be moved further away (i thought it was to close the settings - but it closed the app!)
A couple of requests:
1) Being able to post to Project > Ticket would be useful (currently it's add time to Project only)
2) Billable/not billable option when posting time
3) 'Always on top' mode would also be handy...

hello, its looking good, here are some requests and feedback....
1. show only active projects (we have a ton of completed ones that show up)
2. allow users to enter a time and submit it, in case they forget to start the timer
3. display the date and allow users to change it so they can submit back hours (if you implement suggestion #2)
The install and setup was very easy. The only functional addition I really would like is submitting time at the task level, rather than the project as a whole. Thanks for the good work!
If you don't have the time or desire to make any upgrades, maybe you can post the code and a few of us could tackle some of the additional features. It sure sounds like a lot of people want this timer functionality.
We've put together a new version with some of your suggested features and bug fixes. Thanks for all your feedback we hope you guys like the changes. Enjoy.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working for me. The timer runs, but clicking on settings doesn't do anything, and I can't see any projects/tasks type window. Anyone else? Maybe I am just losing it over here.
