I may be making something wrong since I'm more used to CVS :)

I issue the following command as you instruct and I get the underlying error message. Always.

$ svn co http://code.activecollab.com/svn/ac/trunk
svn: Unrecognized URL scheme 'http://code.activecollab.com/svn/ac/trunk'

My SVN client tools version is: subversion-client-tools-1.0.1
And the same happens with RapidSVN: rapidsvn-0.5.0
