Backup fails with memory exhausted error

If I enable backup, and then run the cron jobs via command line, I have a memory limit exhausted. I bumped up the php.ini value to 256M even, but still the same thing - anyone else have this issue?

Hello,

How big is your setup (database and files)? Which version of PHP do you have running? 256MB should be more than enough to handle the backup...

we are running PHP 5.2 and the size according to aC should be 12MB :)
