I'm looking to find out if there are any good time tracking applications for OSX that work with the activeCollab API, asides from Timepost2. I've spent three days trying to get it to work with the API, and it keeps telling me that I'm forbidden to connect to activeCollab. However, I see that my API is set for read/write access, so I'm not sure why it won't work.
In any case, I'm looking to at least attempt to use another application to access the API to confirm or deny that it's a problem with the application or the API.
Any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
UPDATE:
I'd like to clarify also that I'm using the new 2.0 beta of activeCollab, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them.
I don't know best how to help you, but I can tell you it works for me. I'm only using the Timepost2 demo on OSX 10.5.6 and I have no problems with 2.0.1 beta. Have you tried resetting your API key?
I assume in Timepost under Preferences you have the account type as activecollab, the account url as http://www.yourdomain.com/public/index.php and the same api token as what it lists on your profile on the active collab install?
FYI by malforming my url (i added a '1' at the end of my index.php to list as index1.php which of course does not exist I wa able to get the following error:
"You are forbidden to connect to Activecollab. Please enable API access for your Activecollab account."
this also crashed the app affter I clicked "ok" to the error dialog.
re-entering preferences on relaunch and fixing the url (and also clearing the cache) got me working again. (i also removed all the timers that were already running)
validate your url, clear timers, clear cache, and start a new timer.
I'm also not able to use TimePost2. Maybe it's because I'm using https instead of http ?
acTimer 1.2 works correctly with https.
So it has more to do with bad AC implementation in TimePost2 then with the API rights because acTimer does the trick.
This error is on the level of desktop tool, not activeCollab (there are no known API related bugs at the moment) so you should consult the author of the tool for assistance.
