I need some help with tickets, tasks en milestones. Normally I work with milestones. And we connect tasks to those milestones. But this does not seem te work in Active Collab.
1. In order to create tasks, I must create a checklist. Then I can enter Tasks and connect them to milestones.
2. In order to create tasks I must create a tickets. Then i can connect a task to a tickets.
Can anyone help me out? Is it the best way to manage Milestones & Tasks?
Just treat tickets are higher level tasks, not as something that is not a task, and everything will fit in place. Tickets are great because they can be broken into smaller actions (sub-tasks), but you can use them without a single sub-task.
I agree this is quite confusing, and the name Ticket doesn't lend itself to being used as a Task.
I think either you should be able to put tasks onto a milestone, or the interface for dealing with Tickets within a milestone needs to be made slicker. ie like how you can add one task after another really easily, and then tick them off as done. With tickets you need to click & view more pages to achieve the same thing.
Also it'd be nice if you could rename 'Ticket' to something that's less helpdesk-like. Is this possible?
I completely agree that the name Tickets is very misleading. Tickets are very help-desky. Even tasks and sub-tasks would be more meaningful than tickets x tasks.
I absolutely agree. I'd like to be able to assign tasks and sub-tasks to a specific milestone. "Tickets" sounds like trouble tickets and would make sense for managees to be able to submit if something is impeding their progress on a task.
