Incoming Mail Error

I am getting errors from the incoming email module.

Could Not Connect To Mailbox: SECURITY PROBLEM: insecure server advertised AUTH=PLAIN, Retrying PLAIN authentication after [IN-USE] Internal login failure. Refer to server log for more information., Can not authenticate to POP3 server: POP3 connection bro

If I edit the settings for the mailbox, and click "Test Connection", everything comes back ok. Using POP3 and the email server and the activeCollab install are hosted by the same provider.

Ideas?

Also, I am checking another mailbox that is hosted via Gmail using imap. activeCollab "Test Connection" connects and says "Successfully conected to server. Found 0 unread messages.", however when I log in there are still messages in the inbox.
