Hi all,

just to inform you - the German translation is done and the files are submitted to Ilija. Thanks to all you guys who gave me feedback in the last 2 weeks.

There are still some caveats in this version:

- The countries list is just translated. As Ilija wrote somewehre else in the forum the script should pick up the translated names and sort it alphabetically but this didn't work in my 0.7RC2.

- There are still some inconsitencies with the category colons in the "New ..." forms.

- The distinction between owner company, supplier companies and client companies as shown on http://www.flickr.com/photos/rolandwoldt/276130481/ is still unclear. I translated "client company" in "additional company" because I wanted to keep the "private" functions for the owner company.

- I also added some additional information on some texts - like the allowed picture size for logos/avatars ("avatar" is translated to "picture" to avoid a geeky style) - to help a newbie user.

If you have some change requests or want the files before they will be posted on aC.com just send me an eMail.

Have fun
Roland

Thank you, Roland, for the efford of doing the translation. And thanks for providing the files.

I noticed one more issue regarding German Umlaute. All ä,ü,ö, etc. are shown as quotation marks on the rendered page.

This might be a problem on our machine only or do others experience the same effect?

I had the same problem on my Ubuntu installation. There is a thread about this at http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/666/

As far as I see this is no aC bug.

the translation does not seem to be UTF but that is necessary to let aC display the umlauts correctly in the entered data

What does that mean for the translation? I use the translated files in my local installation and everything shows up ok.

Do I have to replace the special characters with Unicode characters or is s.th. else missing (like in this table here: http://www.utf8-zeichentabelle.de/?

Please help that I can update the translated php files.

either that or you just use the common html entities ü and so on (if thats unreadable: & u u m l ;)

i had an error until i set apache in utf mode for aC. all umlauts that i entered in tasks and so on where cut off. now thats okay but your umlauts look wrong :)

Hallo Johannes,

ich werde die Dateien mal updaten. Kann ich sie Dir zum Test zuschicken, da bei mir die Umlaute ja richtig angezeigt werden?

Viele Grüße
Roland
