Is it possible to revisit the SMTP setup? Or do I need to find the table in MySQL?
activeCollab is not using SMTP to send mails, it is using simple mail(); function of php.
But SMTP support for a professional production use, is planned for the future.

You will be able to specify outgoing SMTP server.
