Hello,
I have a problem when trying to upload to AC. I have a fairly slow connection with a cap of 10 kbps up.
When I try to upload a 70kb file, my connection with the server times out after about 3 minutes. A page displaying an error message: "The following page could not be found. Please make sure the page exists ... yada yada yada" shows up. It's the same error page you get when you type an invalid non-registered URL.
Does anyone know how to fix this error? Is it a problem of the server or AC? Does AC have a min. upload limit or something like that? I think what happens is that the connection drops, literally when the upload rate goes really low. Is that a possibility?
Thanks in advance,
Tony

Hi:
I have just installed a copy of aC. I have added one client and so far 4 projects. Whenever I add a Project, it shows up under my company name. I think it should show under client name. Moreover, when I recieve any project mails, at bottom it writes my company name along with the project name. Can you let me know how to change the primary company. If I have more than 10 companies with many clients, my single project list will be too dificult to manage.
Looking forward for a solution.
Thanks in advance. Great software.
Thanks

Hi Ilija, I tried emailing you at ilija.studen@activecollab.com and I got a SMTP error:
PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 9): 554 <ilija.studen@activecollab.com>: Relay access denied
Not sure if the problem is on my side or yours, just thought I'd let you know. If you want, you can email me at ryan@ryandoherty.net and see what works.
Thanks!

Hi Ilija:
Thanks for your reply.
What I am looking for is something like this -
My Company: has access to all the projects.
Client Company1: has access to projects assigned to them only...
...
Client Comapny'n': has access to projects assigned to them only...
Now we as the account owner company are seeing all the projects in one single row in ascending alphabetical order. I do not know which project belongs to which company, which is sometimes confusing. Can I have each client company project list as explained in example below.
Can something like this be seen on my dashboard or anywhere else in aC
Client Company1
Project a
Project b
Project c
Project d
...
Project 'n'
Client Company2
Project a
Project b
Project c
....
Project 'n'
and so on till Client Company 'n'
(something which is already there on basecamp).
Thanks

Is it possible to disable or hide options for users?
I would like to use ActiveCollab as a client approval website for our agency. I eventually want to use many of the available features but to initially get adoption (internally and with our clients) I will need to remove most of the options (particularly from client login).
I've got a default install using the "collab" theme. (http://www.sailing-fast.com/public/colab/)
Client Logs in:
-Remove Side Bar completely (online users, my projects, rss feeds). Perhaps the “my projects” could stay.
-Remove My Tasks tab at the top.
Client Clicks on "My Projects" and selects a project. On project screen I would like to:
-Remove Message, Tasks, Milestones, Tags and People tabs from menu.
-Remove involved companies and recent activities from side bar.
Ideally it would be great to control these options on a per user basis (so perhaps we use tasks and milestones internally but the client doesn't see them).
Eventually I would like to bring more of the "features" online once people are familiar with the "basis" version.
Is it possible toggle off area of content on a "user level"?
Is it possible to globally turn off or on content areas with a theme?
If not... is it possible to make minor modifications to the source that would still allow me to easily install new version and updates to the software.
I have a basic understanding of servers and php but am far from an expert or even calling myself knowledgeable.
Thanks you very much for your time and input! It is greatly appreciated!
