If you're looking for a webhost that supports activeCollab, check out Dreamhost. They allow you to install activeCollab with "One-Click" from within the control panel and your activeCollab install is ready in literally about 2 minutes.

Oh yeah, they also have unlimited subdomains and domains on each account, so you can install as many as you want. I am giving it all of my web-design clients as a free "bonus" to add value to my business. It's not likely that you'll ever run out of disk space, since they add several more GB every week to your account!

Plus, it's only about $8 a month! (can you tell I'm a satisfied customer?) But if you enter 555DEAL in the 'promo code' field, I think the 1st 2 years are only $5.55 per month (but you have to pay for 2 years up front).

Anyways, I've never, EVER been more satisfied with a webhost, so I figured I'd pass along the info in case you're looking!

I just think, for my use, I will stick with self hosted XAMPP. Yes, it may be slow, and I have no support avenues, but with things like this you often have less mobility with shared hosting vs. vhost or dedicated.

Yes, Dreamhost is shared. If you've got your own server running, go for it! Why pay someone else to host it, especially if speed is not important to you. I am a professional web designer, so I MUST have speed for my clients' websites. Someday though, it would be nice to have my own server and sell the webhosting space to my clients...

But until then, I am totally happy being blown away by Dreamhost's service. Recently they QUADRUPLED my disk storage space up to 200 GB! I've never had a company offer me substantially more value, without upping their prices.

I'd bet a Slicehost slice would run aC pretty well.

1: WLM -> Bit of a spammy posting I'd say, as you're obviously promoting your own referral code (referrers to DH are well paid).

2: The great support DH now offers will not continue once aC is no longer open-source. Of course youll still be able to install it yourself, but they only offer the super easy one-click installs for open source apps.

I would add that as a complete newcomer I installed aC in about two minutes anyway. These auto installs are great when you have the up-to-date version but web hosts don't normally keep them up to date. It can take as long upgrading as it does to install anyway.

aC has one of the best auto installers I have seen.
