Assign project to client?

Just started using AC yesterday and a bit confused about how to use it...
Scenario - I have 12 clients and each client has 2-3 projects. I want to have projects "linked" to client so when I click on that client I see those projects. Instead, it seems clients are separate from everything - I don't understand - I must be doing something wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong - in activeCollab 0.7.1 and previous version focus is on projects, not clients. Problem is that one project can have multiple clients so it's hard to organize everything.
We addressed this issue in activeCollab 1.0.
