Hi, sorry if this is an ignorant question, but I just discovered activeCollab and I'm very ignorant about it.

First, I remember I stumbled across a link to a live demo of activeCollab. I didn't bookmark it and can't remember where I saw it. I wanted to go back there and create a test project and play around with it. Does anyone know what I'm talking... typing about?

Second, my intention is to use it in an engineering environment. I will be storing a large library of AutoCAD drawing files as projects grow. It there any kind of version control in activeCollab when uploading new versions of files? Is there a check-out/check-in type of system so that the same drawing cannot be checked-out by two people? Can I configure my own viewer to view the files? If these things are not already part of activeCollabe, can theu be accomplished with plugins?

Thanks

Files section supports file versioning.

No, there is not. File versioning in activeCollab is made to be simple and easy to use. If you need full blown versioning solution I suggest full blown versioning application such is Subversion.

Your web browser will handle opening file in appropriate application if you have proper associations (for instance, AutoCAD files should be opened by AutoCAD when you download and run them). Just hit download link and run the file when download is done.

Currently available version (activeCollab 0.7.1) does not support plugins, but you can hack the code (it is completely open) to achieve anything you want.
