I was wondering the same thing. I also thought Summer 2007 is what has been stated on the website all along, and in a former posting when being asked for more specifics Ilja even said that summer 2007 means at least by September which is when summer ends. Is that something he's backed away from now? I was counting on that as I have several clients that wanted to begin using it and I steered them to wait till september and use the new ActiveCollab as opposed to starting BaseCamp. If now that's not a possibility I need to know so they can begin using BaseCamp. If it's now Fall 2007 that's fine, it would just be nice to know that. I ditto that I don't need a hard fast date, even knowing that it's now going to be fall instead of summer would be helpful.
Ilija Studen:Just because end of summer is closing up does not mean that it is over
Actually, it does... It would seem like your just avoiding the question:
Do you have any idea when this will be coming out? [days, weeks, months, seasons, years]

tee-hee. it seems extremely clear to me - Ilija is working hard to release 1.0 this Summer. that's why he's not moved to expression yet - cuz it needs a day or two, and when your deadline is a week away two days really make sense, and they doesn't when your deadline is 'when it's done'.
so my bet - we will see 1.0 31 aug or something like this.
just jump the last train, the last train (c) solarstone
gl with that, Ilija, we're all praying for you )
You are all speculating because the developer is playing word games with standard requirements such as price and release dates at the same time as wanting to turn his creation into a business and charge for the product.
The fact is Ilja, despite outlining our concerns on lack of pricing information, and any ballpark for when 1.0 is available, you have avoided answering any of our questions directly.
This is unprofessional, and leaves your potential customers in a situation regretting any time invested in ActiveCollab.
You may want to re-evaluate your position on this.

Just chekin'
Are the beta-testers already testing? I tried to send you direct email - some how it get´s rejected. My question was: Is there any change to get involved in translation team and give few language versions instantly on release package?
If beta-testers already got selected, I was left out. Snif... :( Still a change to sneak in?
Anyway, keep up the good work.

Instead of waiting something you don't know, you have two options:
1. use the actual version of ActiveCollab
2. use another project management solution
Actually, i am using Basecamp and like it pretty much. At least, i can use it at the moment and know whatit provides me. As of ActiveCollab, the current version would need too much customization to be efficient.
I am looking everyday this forum to know what's going on because i want to test it even if i know i wouldn't use it for my business, but maybe for personal projects.
Anyway, look at the sentence: launch date mainly depends on number of bugs beta testers find! It tells alot so i would suggest you people don't wait too long and find another project management solution or use the current version. Don't sacrifice your project management by waiting about the next release.

@Ilja,
I am aware ActiveCollab has value or I would not be here, I'm just concerned when the site locks down except for the forum and there are no updates it makes me nervous considering what I have planned around ActiveCollab 1.0.
It should be a measure of the value and success of ActiveCollab that I am using it. It is an indication that it can perform in a commercial capacity and get the job done. Without going into detail the work being tracked via our 0.71 installation is worth close to $70million a year.
@Everyone else,
I do not want to switch over to Basecamp, I like ActiveCollab, it works for our business. I have a very large ActiveCollab 0.71 database I am waiting to transfer over to 1.0
So Ilja, in summary all I'm asking for is a bit more communication on the project, so that I can plan accordingly and that helps me get back to the people I report to. In return, once we migrate over to 1.0 sucessfully I will write a recommendation stating the company I work for uses your software, which considering how big we are should be good for you.
Regards,
Adam

Hey Iliga I am devolping an adobe AIR application that interfaces with activecollab, and I just read that v1 has a more advanced API. I was wondering if I could have access to the beta v1 for devolpment purposes?
