I've looked around a bit, but no word on the pricing for commercial version.
I'm really interested in finding out more about aC.
Thanks :)

Hey everyone,

It looks like the pricing information is out. I had some feedback related to the number of active projects for aC 1.0 Lite.

Believe me. I commend the continuation of a free version of aC. It is a very generous gesture. That said, I don't think that non-profit organizations (or individuals) have any fewer projects going on than their commercial for-profit brethren. One of things that I loved most about aC was the fact that I could run an unlimited number of projects. This was a huge differentiator from Basecamp. I don't use aC to generate any revenue, but do use it to keep myself on track with school and personal life. It's true that I don't need the advanced features, but restricting the number of projects may ultimately make me turn away from the 1.0 release. I'd suggest having the advanced features, and not the number of projects be the difference between the non-profit and the for-profit versions of aC.

I agree... I was a little surprised by both the pricing + limitation. :( Looks like I'll be seeking alternative solutions (again).

Pricing is way to high!
I allways pay for quality software.
I would love to spend 200$ for the pro version but buying it for 1999$ en paying 499$/month for support and upgrades, thats insane!

You destroyed my dream AC!

Do you really need unlimited number of projects?

There is four of us in A51 (that is the name of our company) and we have 4 active projects at this moment. While I understand that some of you need more project there is no way that you can persuade me that all of you have more than 35 active project.

To see how many project you really need follow these simple steps:

1. How many projects you currently have in your activeCollab setup (if you have one)? Any other tool?
2. How many you can archive right now?
3. How many of them can be merged because they cover the same issue? For example, we are working on activeCollab documentation, but it part of activeCollab project, not a separate one.

How many projects is left?

Support and upgrades are completely optional.

Thats nice to know.

If a project is set as complete (if that is possible in AC1) will it count as one of the max projects?

But still I find 399$ for 15 projects to much.

Will see when RC1 is available.

There are four states project can have in activeCollab - active, paused, completed and canceled. Only number of active projects is limited by the license. You can have as many paused, completed or canceled projects in the archive.
