Once version 1.0 and the API are out, it would be amazing if there were some way to sync the data to a local application, so that data could be worked with outside of the browser, and then synced to the site - this would allow for greater flexibility of workflow, but would also make it much easier to work with projects while traveling. Specifically I'm looking for a Mac application.

Even better, possibly, would be some kind of syncing capability with an existing project management application - for Mac, Daylite seem to be the best in this area, with its seamless integration with address book, calendar, and email applications. Combining this with the collaborative capabilities and extensibility of ActiveCollab would truly be a winning combination!

I have no development skills... just making a suggestion. Here's a question though, with the pending commercial release of the "pro" version of AC, is it feasible for a plug-in to be commercially released rather than being open source?

Anyone interested could develop a tool that integrates desktop tools with activeCollab using API.

We like the idea of integration between the desktop and the web, but we don't plan to develop anything similar just yet. Maybe later, when activeCollab matures ;)

I've tried Daylite yesterday. Really nice application.

Developers will be able to pick a license for their work - commercial, open source, free for non-commercial use or any other they see fit.

I'd love to see a discussion similar to this concerning AC 1.0.

There's a forum discussing a similar situation at MarketCircle (makers of Daylite). :
