It's pretty crappy when you start off with the idea of creating a free alternative to BaseCamp, only to turn around and shaft your users/community by not offering a free version. I understand why you need to make money. I really do understand that, but you could have at least offered a free version.

I know this won't have any influence, but I thought I'd point out that you just lost my respect (and my company as a potential client). I told several people about the benefits of using ActiveCollab, but you have since proven everything that I told them wrong.

Enjoy your exclusively "for pay" model...have fun with that. You should have at least offered a limited free version.

oh wow.. i just came back to take a look at activecollab (had the open-source free .71 version going on for a while) to see if there were any updates and i had no idea it had gone commercial. oh well. looks like i'll be looking elsewhere :(
