I created a test project and added a user to it with permissions set for checklists, discussions and files (both add and manage).

I then logged in as this user and i can see all tabs and am able to submit values, e.g. timetracking.

This to me seems that it doesnt work... does this work for others?

Note that i added this bit of code:
http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/1967/

to allow clients to add projects, would that cause it?

You logged in as a client user who is set as project leader? If that is the case that person will have all the permissions.

If not please write how we can reproduce what you did and send it over to support@a51dev.com and we'll check it out.

Thank you

No, i just checked and the user is not the project leader.

1. I installed AC
2. With the administrator account i created a company
3. I added a user to this company
4. i created the project and made admin as the project leader
5. i added the client company user to the project and set permissions to checklists, discussions and files (both add and manage)
6. i logged out and logged in as the client company user, and i could see and do everything

(This is from memory so i think its what i did)

I just tried implementing this and I not matter if I assign the user the permission or not, it does not work. I even made this person the project leader.

Is there a way to set the permission to read if the user has permission to this area?
