As I understand it is possible to attach a message to a Milestone, but not to task. Why?

It is possible to attach task list to a milestone, but not a single task.

My question is not related to milestones and task lists, but to messages and tasks. As I understand adding messages to anything makes sense because it is a controlled way to add information to it, I tough it would make sense to add a message to a single task, not only to a milestone and was curios about this design desition.

Thanks for your kind support

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood your question.

Currently it is not possible to attach message to the task and that feature is not planned. However, adding long description, comments, attachments and notifications to tasks is planned.

Nice features indeed, but what would be the difference between a comment and a message?

There can be many comments and comment is more natural way of providing feedback.

I think the main difference would be that if you allowed messages to be added to tasks, then you'd end up with a threaded conversation type of structure. Since tasks should be small enough chunks of activity, multiple threads shouldn't be necessary so a single thread of comments should suffice. Am I correct here ilija?

It would be nice to add comments or messages to task lists though.

Current Tasks implementation can be used as a simple checklist and adding anything more to it would ruin simplicity of simple checklists.

But, there is a need for some sort of issue tracking in the system so that option is being considered.

Hey Ilija,

adding the features for comments, attachments, etc seem to already be pushing the tasks outside of a "simple check list". What difference do you see between what i suggested and what you proposed? i agreed with your assessment of not adding messages to tasks (in favor of adding comments instead). The only thing different i suggested was also adding message support to tasks. (*Edit - i meant "task lists" not "tasks")

My point is that there is a different between checklists and issue tracking. Implementing anything in between would not work - it would be too complex for some people or too simple for other. I've been using both systems lately and my opinion is that this too systems should not be combine but separated completely as two distinct sections in the system.
