Plugin: Project Status

Clients would appreciate a high-level, graphical view of their project's status. For instance, a design project usually proceeds: Strategy > Concept > Approval > Production > QA > Deliver (or launch). If a project was in QA stage, a small, graphical progress bar at the top of each page would read 6/6 full.
The workflow would be simple:
1. Define project stages - via input boxes
2. Adjust project status - via dropdown
3. Output project status - via a simple progress bar
I'd do it, but my OO PHP is terrible.

I've already created a project status text and progress bar for version 0.7 (as a hack) as my boss really needed those capabilities. If version 1.0 does not have them, I will gladly write a plugin for these 2 features.
could project stages be defined with milestones?
If not, I have also created a project priority drop down that could easily be modified to be a list of stages in a drop down. we'll have to see what's in version 1.0 first.
