Can anyone merge these hacks?- task notification and task commenting

I know that 1.0 is around the corner, but as I'm not a programmer I was wondering if anyone knew how to/interested in merging two hacks that are out there.

I couldn't get the notification hack to work properly, but I found a better solution, for me anyway: I'm pumping the ActiveCollab RSS feed from the dashboard into rss2email with a cron job that runs every 15 minutes. I get notifications for anything that shows up on the dashboard :-)
Probably not a great solution if your working with a team and actually need assignment-specific notifications, but I'm a solo developer using AC to manage my clients' projects, so everything gets assigned to me anyway.

Thanks seanf and Ilija. I was able to merge the hacks for .71 and although everything looked good, the notification hack didn't seem to work for me either. Glad it wasn't just me.
Ilija, I know this probably belongs in the feature request section but having the 'Forms' have task assignment feature would be good. As I recall it currently goes to 'anyone'. It would be helpful b/c some tasks are always performed by one individual.
