Question about tickets and time

I wanted to use the ticketing system as a way for a client to submit update requests for their site, I think this will suit my needs (correct me if I am wrong and this is not what the ticketing system is used for).
I was wondering if when a ticket is marked completed if it will email the person who submitted it as a completed ticket. For instance client submits a ticket, i do whatever is needed the check it off as completed and it emails them, viola, is it possible?
I was also wondering about how the time calculating work, can you give a description?

uh why are you linking me to a competitor product? I know what time tracking does but I don't see how you can track time in the demo, which is what I was inquiring about.

Time tracking is enabled in hosted trial now. You can give it a try and see if it fits your needs.
