+1 for screenshots of admin views. And Small Biz version (since unavailable features are apparently not hidden from clients, does Small Biz version hide tabs etc for things not available at all?)

Thanks much SLJ for the examples.

I have just now found how to add the other member I created to the project.

Now that I've got a 2nd user added, I did get notification of new a comment on a discussion from the 1st user and vice versa. So notifications don't go to the person who posted the comment. Generally I like that, but there are places where I'm given the option of sending a notification to myself, and nothing happens. I'd like to be able to send it since I'm choosing who it goes to explicitly anyway, but if I can't, then I shouldn't be listed as one of the people I can send the notification to.

I agree with rqsweat. The quickest thing might be to post some screen shots of the Admin functions. That would provide a basic idea about what's there until you decide on a better way to showcase the admin functionality. I saw another post about a screencast possibly being made. That would be great, but ordinary screen shots would help a little in the mean time.

+1. I posted a topic about this too. I'm prob going to purchase by this weekend and need to know more about Admin Functionality... I'm fairly confident that AC will meet all of my needs....but for $400, it would be nice to have the confidence that I'md definately going to have most of my needs met before I actually purchase.

There is a tool in administration that lets you change every email template. There are some variables provided by activeCollab that are inserted in the message body, but everything else is available for customization.

Btw, I checked email configuration in the demo - it worked flawlessly. Does anyone else experience problems with notifications not being sent?

I can help with part of your question. This is what was included in a basic notification (minus my personal info)

Hi,

We have a new assignment for you: task [Task Name] in [Project Name] project.
This task has been created by [My Name]. It says:

[Mine only shows the task name again but I did not enter a description]

Best,
activeCollab team

This is what was sent when I created a user.

Hi,

[My Name] has created a new account for you. You can log in with these parameters:

Email: '[Users Email]' (without quotes)
Password: '[Users Password]' (without quotes)

[Text entered in the message field when the user was created.]

Best,
activeCollab team

I assume in the full version you can obviously customize the signature line. I would like to know what other customization is possible.

As far as RSS subscriptions go, I'm logged in to the demo in one Firefox tab and I have my google home page which I use for RSS subscriptions open in another. When I click on the link for a particular item, it takes me directly to that item in activeCollab. I would think that if I weren't logged in it would prompt for a login and then take me to the same item.

I tried this without being logged in and got an error. I don't know if the error was due to something with activeCollab, Google, or something I did.

Questions about the demo -

I haven't received any notifications for anything I've subscribed to in the demo. I can't add another person to the project to test if this is because it skips notifications to me for my own updates. How are notifications supposed to work? I would like to see how they look in detail but the main thing I need to know is if or when it includes the content of the update/comment/whatever, rather than just a notice asking the person to log in to find out what they're being notified of.

Where should we report typos or inconsistencies in language?

Can you itemize what in the demo is a change from the default installation, for the purpose of the demo or otherwise if applicable?

I have no more disposable time left to expend on trying . . .

Now it seems to work everything perfectly so I can try now the demo.
It looks great so far (the AJAX reponses feel a little slow, but thre's time for optimizations).

Thank you,

the trial version worked for me. i got an email right away after filling on the form (it's under "Try" on the main site). if it's not working for you, it could be that they decided to limit the number of people using it (?) or maybe you got the email and went into your junk filter?
