Problem with install step 5.
Page: 1, 2
Fixed! That's all I needed to know.
Thanks for being so vigilant Ilija. I only just got into PHP so I know next to nothing about it--your help was exactly what I needed to hear.
Anyway, I found the session.save_path variable in php.ini. It was commented out. I uncommented it and added the exact path of the /tmp directory in my htdocs (it's a shared server service, so there is no user-level access to the server's /var or /tmp)--the exact path is found on the PHP config page in the ops page. And that was it. After I changed that variable, everything went off without a hitch.
Hope that helps anybody else who needs to install activeCollab on a similar service!
Thanks again, Ilija.

Apologies for the belated reply, i have managed to solve this particular problem.
i was on a XAMP configuration, and there's a weird problem with sessions in this configuration you've got to set up second level domain to set up the cookies. i.e localhost wont do, you've got to have localhost.com or something for cookies/sessions to work properly. i've had this problem before and didn’t think that was the case until you mentioned sessions on this thread.
However, i've been plagued by another problem this time in the last and final step i get the following error.
* Connected to database as root@localhost
* Database 'active' found
* Failed to import database construction. MySQL said: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ENGINE=InnoDB' at line 15
i will post another post about it.
my SQL version 4.1.20
