Must haves before purchasing (documentation!)
Page: 1, 2
Hi, I'm very anxious to use AC 1.0 and leave basecamp. I believe the pricing is fair.
However, as a developer I really need to see some kind of documentation about AC 1.0 before buying.
For example, I'd like to know how plugins work. I'd like to know what the API exposes.
Using the demo site is great for witnessing the user-experience with AC, but we really need more information before buying.

Ditto!
An overview of the plugin mechanism and API facilities would be a good start.
For example - can the API be used by an external PHP script to create (& modify) users and other objects in the activeCollab database?

Agree. There should really be some documentation for a commercial product.
E.g. the basecamp style documentation is good enough and it's quick to produce it (I mean the basecamp doc that existed at the first release).

I've already purchased, but some info on the API especially would be very helpful.
Wait a second -- @fitzage -- you've _purchased_ ActiveCollab and there is no documentation of the API?
Is there an API??
Is there an API??

Some detailed information on documentation is going to be needed before I can get a purchased approved.
This per fitzage, (hope you don't mind me posting your PM response here).

The install was super easy. The only problem I had was that the license key wasn't yet available in the user profile on ActiveCollab.com, so I was very confused by the directions (it's there now, though). The emailed it to me promptly when I expressed confusion. With this being displayed in the user profile, there's really no confusion. You create an empty database, and there's a single page to go through the initial install and configuration.
Documentation apart from install is pretty much non-existent right now. I thought the interface was generally very discoverable, though. I don't really find myself missing much at this point, although it would be nice to have API documentation once I get into that.
Is that what you needed?

In addition, it seems the documentation under 'support' on the Web site is being developed.
