hello everyone,


I am brand new with activeCollab and I think it's a really great software.

I am just wondering if the next version will allow to send email to members when a task has been assign. Let say that I assign a task to member B , is it possible that an email will be sent to be to warn him/her about this new task? a function in the CRON that send an email every day to summarise ;)

I hope that make sense :)

And what about recurring task , let say a task that happen each Monday , or each first Monday of each month. (such as Google calendar).

It will be fantastic to get such option with the version 1 :)

Sorry if I am asking too much, I am just giving some ideas :)

Please let me know what you think about those options !

Recurring tasks are tagged as Feature Creep and they will not be added to 1.0. We'll see about future releases...

I've just installed aC and like what I see. Unfortunatley lost half my file uploads as I changed from file system to database half way through. Oh Well. Perhaps a warning screen would be useful although it probably wouldn't have stopped me.

Two feature requests:

1. On both files and messages a collapsed view taking up just one line so that you can see more on the page. Just essential details like name, creation date etc.

2. On files, the ability to give each file a meaningful name rather than just a file name such as "Data Loader" or "Project Plan"

Bok... you should stop adding features after your list in this thread, but enable ppl to add extensions/addons to it as needed, a clear API etc. is much better than bloatware. stuff that adds to the experience as an optional module or feature you can turn off or on doesn't hurt, mandatory features though do.

what I'd like to see is an extension that allows for offline/local time tracking and synchronizing :-)

Done that. Any major part of activeCollab 1.0 is a module that can be disabled. You can have a bare bone setup with just system modules that are required (system, resources and milestones) or pimp it up with as many modules as you want.

We have developed 16 modules for the start, but using only 12 in our own setup.

Is the new version will allow a time tracker ?

Just to know how long we spent on such or such task ? If so , are you adding some reporting system such as grant chart ?

1. There is time tracking module, but it will be part of commercial version.

2. No gantt charts in default package, but that feature can be easily added as a plugin.
