First i would like to say this application is amazing!!!

I am one of those users that are in much need of the time tracking as you described above, more than any other aspect you have listed. This would be crucial for cost analysis per project, per user basis and would help with the growth of my company immensely!

On the subject of import export - an export to Quicken would put you leap years ahead of the competition and blow those Ruby/rails apps out of the water (not mentioning any names)!!!

just some food for thought!

Thanks for this great tool.

Myself and partners would like to request a contact manager. Where we can add and track contact information and assign them catergories.

*It would also be great if there was a way to rate the contacts with a simple star system. That's just secondary wish though.

Thanks again for the great product.

Expense tracking is also something I think that would go along great with time tracking.

Or an admin view only way to assign a particular user an hourly rate so when they are working and tracking their time admin can automatically see how much to pay that individual.

I wanted to second the requests for some kind of contact management outside of having to invite members. I really so badly want to integrate a CRM and project management but it seems like every solution is lopsided towards one or the the other or just bloated. Having a contact manager feature -- with basic fields, ability to add unlimited (dated) comments/notes to the profile, and ability to attach projects/tasks to this contact would be a lifesaver.

Wonderful thing is a Gant diagram for displaying project state and project process.
Se this link for some example. http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/2737.html

I think, introducing this feature will be great!

About multiple assignees: I've actually said that this feature will be introduce and started implementing it but it soon became obvious that it was a bad idea. Here are the problems:

1. Majority of users will not use it. Also, in most cases tasks can be broken down into smaller peaces so you don't actually need to assign them to the group.

Just to pipe in here, I know that I would use it.

I have just installed aC, and I was trying to find out how to assign a task to 2 or 3 people, because they'll be working on it together.

Just to be clear, the workaround for this (or is this a feature, not a bug?) is to repeatedly create the same task and assign each person that's participating in the collaboration?

Tasks should be assigned to who is responsible for the task, not necessarily who is actually working on it. Usually they are the same person, but in case of team collaboration, then the person responsible may be their supervisor or one of the team members. If you don't have one person accountable for the task, you wind up with people pointing fingers when it doesn't get done.

Also, you can create a project and assign those team members to that project. Then assign the tasks to "anyone" so that any team member can check it off.

Just a thought on how to get it to work in your situation.

Hehe. Here is a little secret, but don't tell anyone ;)

In activeCollab 1.0 you can select responsible user and additional assignees (unlimited). Rule is simple - task can be assigned to as many users as you want but only one is responsible and you are required to select it.

Hope that such implementation is useful.

Is that possible To Add one {[Mother&Children]-cycle-able} Project until Root Project close.
For example
I can create one project say "Pay Credit Card monthly via ATM" , and I setup to 24th / per month.
1st day per month will auto generate child-project say "Pay Credit Card monthly via ATM [April]"
Then it will auto send the mail before Milestone . until we setup the child-project Done .
or setup Mother-project done.
each children project can attach the file or comment .

Task tracking . Owner can remark this task is finished or not.

If it possible just show only Task , or only Milestone in Overview all Project. we can select all style or just only one.

hello everyone,

I am brand new with activeCollab and I think it's a really great software.

I am just wondering if the next version will allow to send email to members when a task has been assign. Let say that I assign a task to member B , is it possible that an email will be sent to be to warn him/her about this new task? a function in the CRON that send an email every day to summarise ;)

I hope that make sense :)

Looking forward to the release of the soft, well done :)

aye, that would be cool..seeing as the 'assign milestone' does it!

Looking forward to 1.0 - .71 has proven to be invaluable this year, most of my projects have been organised through aC :)

Great work! :D
