Domains and subdomains

Hi, I'm considering purchasing, but I plan on installing on a subdomain. Do I need to specify the subdomain as the installation URL?

Yes, you do. License is per URL, not per domain (different subdomains and subfolders count as different URL-s).
Thank you for your consideration

Hi Ilija,
What would happen if i installed it on one domain say www.domainone.com then my company re branded and i wanted to move it to www.domaintwo.com? Would i need to buy a new license for this?

Hi, hi,
You can request URL change on your profile page. When change is approved you will need to remove old setup from the old URL within 48 hours.

does the same apply for REQUEST_URI (don't know how else to describe it :P) - i.e. do i need to spedify sub.domain.com/uri when ordering? or does the sub/domain do and I can install it and move it about if I wish?
what about development/testing? are we allowed to have it on a test server with 'dummy' data? or does the main installation have a sandbox feature?
: )
EDIT:
oh, I just seen this >> http://www.activecollab.com/forums/post/9804/#post9804
does the 'localhost' have to be "localhost"? or can it be a local server in ones AD domain?

You can have a production setup on one URL. Subdomains and subfolders count as URL-s. google.com, labs.google.com, google.com/labs and labs.google.com/docs - they are all different.
One setup on your own machine for development and testing is allowed.

Hi, what if multiple urls point to the same installation, is that allowed?

Aliasing is not permitted at this point due to the way activeCollab handles URL-s. You will need a license for every activeCollab installation you run even when they are sharing the same database.
