An even better feature would be some "read by username " info box showing by every milestone/discussion/comment/ticket/page etc.

THAT would ensure every body is indeed accessing what they need to know.

I've already realised i missed a post from my dev chap that is over 7 days old! ... and i'm on AC all the time.

I'd also like to see this feature return. All users of the system are remote and it is very useful to know who is (or has recently been) working with you. Not knowing that others are on at the same time leads to duplication of efforts and cross posts of the same information. Just like the real office, the key to the virtual office is knowing who is availble. Hope this feature returns.

Ilija Studen:
Most probably not. It caused only problems in the past without providing any real value. We will reconsider it if enough people ask for it and provide a good reason why it should be added.

Ok. This is disappointing in a number of ways.

This feature has been very valuable to us. Everyone on our team works remotely. So, I can't even imagine how many phone calls or messages it saved me from having to make just to see if someone is taking care of some new issue posted by a client. If I can see who has logged in, I know that they have read the same thing I have and are doing something about it. If I, at that same time have a client on the phone asking questions, I can tell them "so and so is aware of and on the problem." It prevents multiple people from responding to the same posts at the same time. Also, it helps me confirm that new clients are getting our messages. Just, in general, it helps to provide some of the same aspect "live" offices enjoy of being able to "see" people working.

The non-complete-functionality demo, the previous version and previous feature discussions are all we have to go on at this point to understand what we are buying. I remember specifically discussing ( with you participating) this feature and how it could be improved in future versions in this forum. Please correct me if I missed something. But, I don't recall any public communication that this would simply be removed. Where it was left here was that it would actually be improved, not removed.

I understand that you guys need to be able to make decisions like this for development. I develop software too. But, now that you are accepting peoples money for this, it's a different situation than before. I believe that it's problematic to have implied that a feature would exist and then later, after accepting peoples payment for the product, say that it "had no real value" and that we must now petition and justify it for you to do the work to add it. I'm going to follow this post up with another thread regarding my over-all impression here. I hope you will hear my points, as a customer now, and not only reconsider this feature but also your approach to servicing this product.
