submit / cancel

Anywhere there's a 'submit' button, I'd also like a 'cancel' option, rather than have to close the quick add window or use the browser to back up to the previous screen.
(Longer term, I'd like to be able to set a few defaults for some fields to be filled in, and then also have a 'reset' to defaults button, but that's a whole 'nother thing.)

I remember reading a study done by Luke Wroblewski for his upcoming form usability book. Study was about primary and secondary form actions (where primary would be Submit and secondary Cancel in this case). Results are pretty interesting - secondary action should be AVOIDED if it is not absolutely necessary. User needs time to figure out what button to click. If there is only one button there is no doubt and forms are easier to use.
Update:
I've found the article. Here is the sentence from the conclusion:

Make sure you really need each secondary action on a form and don’t add them indiscriminately.

Thanks for the link. I was getting 'secondary actions' anyway, in the form of a prompt asking if I'm sure, even when I'd made no changes to the form, but it seems that has to do with the web browser I was using. Another browser only prompts if the form has something entered, so that's good. Thanks for the response, and request rescinded.
