It seems from the spq database that data is collected on users' login activity - importantly their last login date and time. Am I being blind on where I can get a nice table within ac with this information in, or could this be a feature request?

Last activity date is not available anywhere in the interface so you didn't missed it. It is used as a reference when user comes back to activeCollab after a certain period of time. System will use it to update users last visit time.
We'll consider to add this information to the system in the upcoming versions. Moved to Feature Requests forum than :)
