Project Announcements
Page: 1
It would be nice to be able to control the announcements that display during login to your aC account and/or specific projects. For example, the ability to have an admin panel for each project to control the announcements that team members see upon logging into aC. It could be put in the same place as the "Welcome back {username}!" string, but would be specific to that project area. If nothing is specified, the default welcome message could be displayed.
Just a thought...

Is there any option such that every project member gets auto subscription to all the project notifications like, new message, new ticket or new comment ?? I think currently the message poster have to select everyone to receive notifications.

Project Announcements would be a VERY welcome idea. Basecamp offers this feature, and here's one reason it's so valuable: you can effectively create a custom welcome message or even a quick-link area for your customers. Most clients have no idea where to start when they login to aC for the first time. Project Announcements would help. Note these ideas from the 37s blog + forum:

We would use an announcement block to welcome new clients to the tool and give them an idea of 'where to go next' so to speak.

In my view, If any discussion/message/ticket is posted for a project, then it is important that every assignees of project gets a email notification "By default". Currently the messages poster have to select all the assignee as subscribers this an extra task and clients generally don't follow all this. So sometimes, clients post a new message and do not subscribe everyone. So no body knows that there is a new message posted by client.
In my view, organizations will fall into two categories:
-- underwhelmed. Members of the organization, for one reason or another, will not keep up and monitor issue just via email.
--overwhelmed. Member of the organization will get too many emails per day, from too many projects/subjects/sources, to effectively read and filter incoming information.
To be equally brief, summary and inaccurate, the current aC "dashboard" is suboptimal in allowing one to get an effective "view" into current issues and needs. (My initial login screen is essentially useless, since we have thirty or more projects...). I can imagine, and hope for, a much more complex and dynamic series of "views" into what is going on, and much faster ways to sort information by priority, project and other factors.
As for "templates," we for one could use multiple inheritance, 'items' which appear under multiple projects and apply to all those projects...
As for for emails... I'll make another ticket.
Thanks for the time, always appreciated.

Completely agree with cbtrussell. My clients have the same problem. They log in and have no idea what to click on (no matter how nice and friendly the interface is). They just feel lost. I think adding a message at the top, with a short introduction and instructions of how things work (maybe a couple of tutorial links) would be fantastic. Maybe this can be made as a standalone module instead of being integrated into the system in the new version?

This came up (again) in our 3PM today-- everyone in the client company wanted a 5min intro to Collab and how to use; it was difficult for them to intuitively know "where they are" on the Collab site. This could be quickly fixed by tooltips at the top, and different colors for each section of the site (etc): and go from there.
