Should we buy or not?
Page: 1
We have been considering buying Activecollab, but somehow the forums have given me the impression a lot is still wrong with the product and a51 isn't taking care of everything. Is this impression right or wrong? Also, there is no more word about BaseCamp migration...
What can the community advise me? Buy or wait it out?

I'd say it all depends on which features you need to use. If you were a bit more descriptive about what you needed to use it for, then some of us may be able to answer you better.
Personally I have no Idea about Basecamp migration, so I can't help you there.
Ilija has always been responsive to me whenever I ran into a problem. If they are not answered on the forums, I have found they have been quite quick to respond to the Tech support link. You just have to keep in mind that they are in Europe and in a different time zone.
Personally I think it is a good product, and they have a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you find it's not where you want the product to be yet, you can get your cash back.

It does depend on the features you use - development is slow, I made a mistake of thinking it will be faster so might as well buy now. However, it is something that can be lived with, as aC satisfies the *majority* of our requirements, if not all.

It's not suitable for client use yet - unless you are comfortable with your clients seeing *everything* in your projects.
If clients aren't an issue, I'd go ahead and get it. Although there are some significant issues that need to be addressed, it's quite useful as-is.

I've been working on aC within my software company for a couple of weeks now. Growing pains aside (as with any software) what Ilija and the team have done is a GREAT piece of code.
Buy it. The support has been wonderful too.
