Auto-assign does not work for us at all. Roles do not make any difference. Only the main admin account gets auto-assigned.

Permissions seem to be applied on a *per-role* basis, rather than a *per-user* basis.. is that correct?

So, is my understanding of the following correct:

If I create a Project Manager user (call him X), then change the permissions for Project Managers, then create another Project Manager user (call her Y), then does X's permissions automatically change to match those of Y's? or does X keep his own set of permissions?

How does the auto_assign permission work?

My assumption was that a user given this privilege will automatically be included in all projects, & therefore the reverse would work too -- that a user NOT given this permission would therefore not be automatically included in any projects, instead, only being included when specifically added to a project.

However, this does not seem to work.. I turned off this permission setting for Project Managers, then created a couple with that permission set, however those PM's are still added to all projects, old & new.

Is there something about auto_assign I'm missing?
