it would be great if there was a place on the form where you list the people on a project with check boxes next to each so i could quickly add them to a discussion, task, etc. i think this is how .71 used to work. as it stands now, i have to click a button or menu, wait for dialog to appear, then select, then click done. it doesnt sound that hard but its a lot of extra steps and most of my clients (actually all) dont see the button to add subscribers so people never get added to discussions unless i go in and add them.

Actually I think it's more significant a problem than that - I just wrote a long comment and thought I should check and amend the subscribers before posting. Unfortunately, changing the subscribers list lost my un-submitted comment - arrggg!
So this change would be a real annoyance remover!

I'm using:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20061201 Firefox/2.0.0.11 (Ubuntu-feisty)
and I was adding a comment to a discussion.
I am an administrator and the author of the discussion, but not the project owner (am I using the right terms?)
I can try and recreate the behaviour if you think this is a bug rather than just an enhancement request!

on /public/index.php/projects/10/discussions/282
typed in the reply area
clicked 'manage subscriptions'
got sent to /public/index.php/projects/10/objects/282/subscriptions and see a list of 'Subscribed People'
no where to go, no option to change the list (so do I have permission to change the subscribers?) so I hit the browser back button
returned to /public/index.php/projects/10/discussions/282 with reply text gone!
Does this help?

That's why I thought it would be an enhancement. It is a sensible user expectation to want to change the subscribers before submitting a posting and there is no indication whether the subscriber management will be done with a AJAX layer thingy like it is in other places or with a page change (as it is done here).
cheers

Therefore it should not be necessary to leave the page to change :P :)

It would also be nice to be able to select people who are always subscribed to new discussions instead of having to do it every time. I have clients that can't get the concept of subscribing down and I have to check constantly to see if they have submitted something new and it would be nice if I or they could be subscribed automatically to every discussion.
