Document downloads lose last character under Safari

activeCollab 0.6, hosted on Debian, MySQL 4.1
So far everything I've tried has worked on Safari (Version 2.0.4 (419.3)) except downloading a document. The last letter of the filename gets dropped. E.g. foo.png will download as foo.pn
If I add the missing character to the downloaded file, then the file is fine. The character does not get dropped when in Firefox.
