clarry:
We are currently using 0.7.1 and love it but feel we now want the extra functionality that the corporate licence offers.
While activeCollab 1.1 brings a lot of new things to the table and is more advanced than 1.0 that does not mean that 1.0 will not provide benefits over old activeCollab 0.7.1. You get all that new functionality, beautiful interface, support and constant development.

clarry:
Also I have noticed that there has been some talk about changing the term "tickets" to "tasks" and tasks to sub-tasks - is this going to happen?

This is being considered (like all suggestions made by activeCollab users), but there is no final decision. Even if this happens it will not happen in the next couple of months for sure so current naming is here to stay for a while.

clarry:
When we do come to upgrade so that we don't need to update the subdomain that the AC installation is on can I install AC1.0 to the same folder as AC0.7.1 or how else would I do this - for example currently activ collab 0.7.1 is installed at project.ifweb.co.uk and this is where I want the new version to be as well - how do I do this? I know I need the installer to move data but can I have the two versions in the same folder?

You cannot have two setups in the same directory, but you can install activeCollab 1.0 in new folder, migrate your data and than use .htaccess files to map subdomain to skip old installation and use new one.

activeCollab can benefit a lot if you use .htaccess. Check out this tweak to see how you can take advantage of mod_rewrite to have 100% clean URL-s.

Hi,

We are currently using 0.7.1 and love it but feel we now want the extra functionality that the corporate licence offers. Is it worth upgrading now or should we wait for the stable 1.1 version to be released - we don't want to confuse customers too much!

Also I have noticed that there has been some talk about changing the term "tickets" to "tasks" and tasks to sub-tasks - is this going to happen? We also have a helpdesk that runs as a ticket system and whilst we want the functionality that AC offers we don't want our customers to lose faith with us because we are calling too many things the same!

Many Thanks
